At the Law Offices of Betty Ann Spencer, I have been representing clients in collaborative divorce proceedings since the late 1990s. I am a licensed marriage family therapist, an attorney, and the founding member of The Collaborative Council of the Redwood Empire (CCRE). I have consistently met the ongoing professional training requirements and practice standards of the industry's professional organizations, which include the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals, CCRE and Collaborative Practice California. I also regularly exceed the annual continuing education and training standards for California attorneys and licensed marriage family therapists. When I serve as your counsel in a collaborative divorce proceeding, I represent you for settlement only. I act as your ally. I work with you, your spouse and opposing counsel to negotiate a lasting agreement that meets the needs and protects the interests of everyone concerned, most importantly your children.
